The problem
The Pulisic Foundation needed to run registration for youth soccer events under its own brand, on its own domain, without asking parents to trust an unfamiliar third-party platform.
The options on the market forced a tradeoff the Foundation wasn't willing to make:
SportsEngine / LeagueApps
Capable, but the parent-facing registration flow is covered in the platform's branding, not the club's. A parent signing up their kid for a Pulisic Foundation camp would complete checkout on a page that didn't look like the Foundation.
Generic form builders (JotForm, Wufoo, Google Forms)
Easy to brand, but no event model, no roster, no COPPA-compliant handling of minors' data, and no real payment flow. The Foundation would own the compliance risk and rebuild half of a registration platform in workarounds.
Building in-house
Months of engineering for something that isn't the Foundation's mission.
On top of that: the Foundation serves children under 13, which means COPPA. Parental consent, data sensitivity classification, and retention policies aren't optional — and they're exactly the things generic tools leave to the customer.
Why EZ Event Registration
Three things decided it.
- 01The Foundation's brand, not ours.
- Every parent-facing surface — the event pages, the registration flow, the confirmation emails — runs on pulisicfoundation.org with the Foundation's logo, colors, and copy. No EZ Event Registration branding appears anywhere a parent sees. The Foundation configured five color tokens, uploaded a logo and favicon, and the entire public site themed to match.
- 02COPPA handled out of the box.
- Parental consent is built into the registration flow. Sensitive fields (birthdate, medical info) are encrypted at rest with access logged. Per-event data retention policies let the Foundation set how long registration data is kept. This greatly simplified and expedited the Foundation's legal review.
- 03Live in days, not a quarter.
- No sales call. No setup fee. The Foundation's owner logged in via email OTP, configured branding, connected Stripe through the embedded Connect v2 flow (no external redirects), added staff profiles, and published their first event — all inside the admin dashboard. Stripe payouts go directly to the Foundation's bank account; EZ Event Registration only takes a 1.5% platform fee.
